One of the responsibilities the FNSDS considers a high priority is to keep abreast of the needs and concerns of First Nations in BC as they relate to Social Development and the health and wellbeing of BC First Nations. The FNSDS Conferences create a venue for the procurement of this information while creating opportunity for Social Development field staff to network, be heard and to receive needed information on the social, political and economic changes that may affect their work, clients and communities. Please refer to the events calendar for dates.
FNSDS hosted their annual Active Measures conference at the Renaissance Habourside Hotel in downtown Vancouver on November 5 & 6th, 2007.
This year we heard from 10 presenters who have demonstrated expertise in the areas of program development, research and finding procurement all aimed at active measures implementation. (See below for presentations or reports).
