The First Nations Social Development Society is a non-profit organization that has an overall goal of helping BC's First Nations communities achieve self sustainability through innovative training, consultation, and program initiatives associated with INAC's Social Development Program.
We are governed by a Board of 12 representatives from around the province of British Columbia, with 10 directors representing 10 geographical areas of BC and 2 at large directors. We are currently looking for representatives from South Vancouver Island, Prince George-Nechako, and Cariboo-Chilcotin regions and welcome your First Nation having input into the nomination of suitable candidates.
Click on the Terms of Reference and feel free to forward on to any possible candidates who might be interested. The Terms of Reference also includes the work experience and education levels we are seeking in a prospective board member. Ideally, it would be beneficial for a number of bands to agree on one or two prospective candidates whose names could be put forward to our selection committee. But is is best to leave that to your area to decide what process you may use for putting names forward.
Please refer to the map under Board of Directors under the Home page for a listing of the ten representative areas and the bands associated with each band (please click on the area of the map to see the list of bands)
